Pale blue eyes observed the turian carefully.  She then looked back out upon the nebula, almost appearing to be ignoring him.  She was thinking, trying to contain an incredulous laugh.  She was amused if anything.  But he was straight to the point and she liked that.  Still, he was trying to sell his deal and he would be disappointed to find that she was not interested.

“I do,” she replied softly, giving him another sidelong glance.  "While I don’t know who you are exactly, I can hazard a guess as to what party is interested in me this time.“

She turned completely, leaning her back against the railing and looking straight at the turian.  She pinned him with a dangerous look.  She really hoped he knew what he was dealing with.  Not that she would underestimate him, of course, but she drove a hard bargain and she was not one to let up easily — and if things did not go her way, she had her ways of disappearing.

"I refuse to work with the Alliance, with C-Sec, the Council… hell, I even refuse to work with mercenaries.  If it’s not clear, I have my own interests in mind.  If I won’t even work with my own kind, what makes you think you have anything better to offer?”  She then pondered his question and shrugged.  "Some might say I have a rather bad habit of finding myself in more trouble than I should.“

He met her intense pale eyes with a measured stare, conveying only civil interest and an unruffled demeanor.  He was impressed with how she comported herself – as he had expected he would be.  Even when an utter stranger - a turian - casually inserted himself next to her and revealed both her alias and her rank, she had not so much as displayed anything but mild apathy.  A professional.

"I apologize for sounding trite and cliched, but who I am doesn’t matter.  Know only that I am a representative of a greater authority."  Adrien shifted, his back now against the railing, long legs crossed lazily before him.  "That is a strength, then.  We're not your kind.  We’re totally independent of them and their affairs.  I’ll take your answer as a ’yes’ – so I urge you to accept the invitation we’re extending to you.  Realize what a rarity this is.

Your employers might have their infiltrators, but their zealous regard for humanity makes them weak.  Far more difficult for them to send their agents to act as sleeper cells in Hierarchy compounds, don’t you think?  You’ll be given a complete pardon, asylum, and the ability to work autonomously.  We have no interest in interfering with whatever you do, Ms. Prewitt, so long as it does not affect the security of the Hierarchy or its territories and civilians.   These terms are flexible.”
