     "We will take that as a no. We offer condolences for your losses. Should there be anything we, or the Normandy can do to assist, we are sure Shepard Commander would be willing to help." That was, most likely at least, not true. Though Legion rarely lied, sometimes it was necessary to raise morale, not that it seemed likely that was possible given the situation.

     A rallying breath.  “The commander is doing all they can.  Thank you, Legion.” The moniker of an AI felt strange to his tongue.  “Little can be done at this point to help but more troops and nothing short of a damn miracle."  Not even the Spirits could intervene.  "Does Rannoch feel like home to you?  Do you have a sense of what loss feels like?"  There was no more accusation in his tone.  Not this time.  Only weary curiosity, and the tenuous hope that a creature like Legion could comprehend the pain he felt.
