“That’s why they should mix Military with politics.” She said with a soft chuckle. Taking one of the small glass of wine some waiter was handing out. “If you think it’s a war zone out there, just imagine what we deal with in the hospitals.” Claire nodded in agreement while sipping a bit from the glass. “Claire Giorgi. Well, Dr. Gorgi around here. But either will suffice. And yourself?”

“Believe me,” he said grimly, “I’m well aware of the hell your people go through.  It’s a job I respect, albeit not one that I envy.” He might have said more, but Adrien sensed that this was neither the time nor place to complain about naive dilettantes plucking imported fruits and expensive cocktails.

“Adrien Victus.  It’s good to meet you, Dr. Gorgi.” He was eager not to introduce himself, for once, as Primarch or even General.  The titles wearied him; burdened him.  Especially tonight.  “Which hospital?  Resources are stretched thin, but you seem like a capable person, and one not unfamiliar with wounded vets.  We could always use better facilities to treat incoming patients like that.  Perhaps I could help.”
