“It seems so, sir, yes.” Liam forward the report to the Primarch. “If you have any questions myself or Garrus are more than happy to answer them.” With that done he sent a quick message to Garrus letting the man know.

“That’s the only good news, sir. We were able to save some of the civilians. Mostly women and children. They’re all getting checked out now. They seem worse for wear but are doing alright. The crew and I are doing everything we can to make them comfortable. James is setting up a play area for the kids in the shuttle bay to let them burn off some energy.”

The Primarch let out a breath that he didn’t realize he’d been holding.  Without comment, he looked down at the flaring of his omni-tool, confirming the report received. When he was satisfied, he looked back up at Shepard, not bothering to hide his approval.  "Damn fine work, Commander.  You’ve given me at least one reason to sleep easy tonight.  You and your squad are to be lauded for it."  Still, he did not miss the specificity of the word.  Some civilians.  Well, Victus was a strategist, not a saint.  Any child could tell you that some was better than none.

"I hope you’re taking care of yourself.” He ventured, the orange glow of the omni-tool fading from his face as he deactivated it.  “It’s all too easy to get burnt out.  Especially after missions like that one."  It was a bit presumptuous, perhaps, but no more than any officer encouraging their men to take hard-earned R&R – and Victus could think of few people who deserved it more.
